Common Beginner Kickboxing Mistakes You Need To Avoid

Kickboxing Sydney city is a sport that a lot of people are a little scared to try. Some people get intimidated by the heavy bags and others are intimidated by the cardio workout involved. Others just fear that they can sustain injuries. No matter your fear, overcoming it and avoiding the following mistakes will make you a great kickboxer.

No proper range of motion

One major mistake that most beginners make is not having the appropriate range of motion when kicking the roundhouse kick. If you do not have the proper range of motion, it will cause you to do the roundhouse kick with the wrong part of your shin and cause injury.

Kicking incorrectly

Kicking to the air while wearing your shoes is a common mistake that most beginner students in kickboxing gyms make. Having a lot of weight on your foot whilst kicking in the wrong position can cause your knee to get injured.

You push into workouts

Those people who rush into workouts are making a big mistake. Before you start kickboxing, you need to focus on the basics and learn the ins and outs. When you do this, you reduce your chances of injury.

Not warming up properly

Most beginners get into an intensive workout without warming up properly. Since kickboxing is a high-energy sport, beginners should get their heart rates up and stretch properly before a workout. Afterwards, they should jump into boxing combinations, drills and techniques in the correct format.

Not being consistent

Before starting kickboxing Sydney city, you should prepare your mind and body and be sure you will be consistent. Not staying consistent with your workout can be your downfall. You should talk to your trainer about staying consistent with your workouts and heed their advice. You need to practice at least two times a week if you want to develop stamina and muscle memory.
